The Max property represents a suggested maximum for the Setting object Value property. In general you will want to stay within the suggested minimum maximum range.

If you do not stay within the minimum maximum range the effects you get may be unusual. For example increasing contrast past the maximum will start to invert colors creating unusual color schemes.
