The projects we deal with are fairly technical so they're not for the faint of heart. You'll need to be able to dive into complex code and work out what's going on. No matter what you've done in the past we guarantee it will be a significant learning experience for you.
Our primary language of communication is English. As such it's important that you have excellent communication skills in spoken English. We deal with clients from around the world so an appreciation of European and American cultural and linguistic differences would be useful. A good level of written English would be advantageous.
We're looking for experience in raster or vector graphics. If you know about PDF, PostScript, EPS, XPS, SVG, Flash, TIFF, JPEG, ICC etc - we want to know you. Alternatively if you look at our products and feel that you've got something else to offer - please feel welcome to persuade us.
We're an informal company - not into suits and tradition. We measure by results not by appearance. Feel welcome to get in touch and tell us a little bit about the work you've done in the past.
Salaries are very much dependent on experience - but we'll certainly beat what you're earning now!
We operate a Western style company which means we don't work Saturdays unless there's a really good reason.

Development Jobs
We're always interested in hearing from people with relevant skills. If you think you can produce any of the projects below please do say.
Note that we have extensive in-house programming experience. So our programming quality is very high and we produce results quickly. We would expect the same from you.
Basics
We are generally looking for code written in C/C++. We look for fast compact code. Do not misuse the STL and use inline documentation as appropriate. Be robust in your approach.
It is important that the code is tested properly - we would expect you to provide an automated test harness so that we can easily see how the code has been tested.
It is important that your code is unburdened by license agreements. By all means use open source code as a reference if you wish to see how other people have approached problems. However do not copy GPL or LGPL source code. If you find another type of license and you wish to copy code please ask us first and send us the relevant license agreement.
We will expect full Intellectual Property rights. You should not expect to be able to re-use or re-sell the code you have written.
If you are interested please send us a short note (not more than 300 words) telling us your experience and skills, the approach you would take and costs we should expect. Send us a small class you've written - nothing elaborate - just something representative of your code.
.NET Upload Applet
We would like a client side .NET control for sophisticated file upload over HTTP. We would expect that it would mimic the standard upload functionality but allow drag and drop, multi-file upload and directory upload. It should be designed to be robust and work with uploads of up to 2GB. File compression would be a handy extra. We may release the final code as open source.
XSL-FO
We are looking for a layer over ABCpdf to implement XSL-FO rendering.
